Strophostyles helvola (L.) Elliot. Common Names: Amberique-bean, Wild bean, Trailing wild bean, Annual wooly- bean, Trailing fuzzy-bean, Sand bean, Trailing Bean, Pink Wild Bean.
Native plant to U.S. Grows along edges of woods, in thickets and along streams. Very drought tolerant. Produces edible beans similar to common green beans but not as tender or tasty. Good survival food for humans and wildlife. Twining and can reach 20 feet, so needs support. Very hard to find seeds.
